Perfect for hot summer days!
I just love the sweet and juicy watermelon, the green parsley with minerals for balance, and some lime for zest.
The white rind of the melon contains a lot of organic sodium, just what we need to hydrate ourselves. And the green rind is full of chlorophyll which oxygenates us. So just break off a little piece and chew on it. Not too bad?
If you are brave, add a little tiny piece of green rind to the smoothie (only if organic).
Furthermore the watermelon contains merely half the sugar of an apple! So enjoy.
Ingredients
A large wedge of watermelon with seeds and some of the white rind
A handful of parsley
Squirts of lime juice to your liking
Directions
1. Place melon and herb in a blender and process until smooth. OR use a handheld blender. Then start with a few pieces of melon and add some parsley leaves. You might want to do this in batches.
2. Add squirts of fresh lime juice. Taste and adjust.
Note: Lemon works just as well.
This smoothie will have a gorgeous color – brown! Ha, ha, ha.
Yes, brown smoothies are still beautiful!
