You have probably heard about the nutritious seaweeds or sea vegetables, but might not have tried any yet. Even the thought scares you! Well you outlived Halloween, so I am sure you can handle seaweeds too!
Seaweeds are so nourishing and beneficial for us with lots of minerals and Omega-3 fatty acids. It is a truly “wild” food. They contain some of the minerals missing in land vegetables. Some well-known are nori, kelp, wakame and dulse. In fact nori is considered by the Japanese traditionally as a food that helps men to keep their hair!
The red dulse seaweeds are great “starter” sea vegetables due to their slightly salty, yet mild flavor. They come in strips or flakes. You can find them in most well-stocked grocery stores. The dulse flakes actually dissolve in liquids, so sprinkle on your soups and salads.
