There are more approaches to food other than feeling grateful for it. Gratitude is one of them, and love is another. I will here show an excerpt from my book Eating With The Heart, (which is in the making😉). In one chapter there I discuss different attitudes regarding our food when it comes to love in mind. Today I will include some of them, and all the concepts are just as kind and lovely to keep in mind.
Add love when cooking
You can add love to the food you prepare. Add love as an intention when making your food. Not just in food dishes meant for family and friends but be sure to add love to a meal made for yourself as well. A healthy breakfast that you have put together can make you both happy and grateful for the colorful and loving morning greeting.
What to make food from
You can show love when it comes to the choice of what to make food from. Your choice could be foods that are good for the environment such as organic, local, sustainable etc. Another choice is to take advantage of the whole vegetable. For instance, you might make use of the peel by making a broth or to dehydrate or dry and make chips.
Compassionate choices
Your love can also be shown in choosing food that saves animals. You might choose your food from the plant kingdom only and that means that you then refrain from all animal handling. Choosing vegan food and starting with a vegan day of the week, for example, is a nice way.
