August 15th is the 4th Annual International Green Smoothie Day!
Four years ago, Tera Warner officially declared August 15th (her mom’s birthday) International Green Smoothie Day (because green is her mom’s favorite color).
Well, what is a Green Smoothie?
Most people already know what a “smoothie” is. (Unfortunately, they’re used to it being served with yoghurt, soya milk, or artificial syrups.)
Here is how you make a yummy GREEN smoothie:
• Simply grab your favorite fruit
• add some fresh spinach leaves (or another leafy green)
• and a few crunchy ice-cubes or water
• Blend until smooth, and you’ve got yourself a Green Smoothie!
Use more fruits than greens, maybe two thirds to one third and enough water or ice to blend it to a drink (unless you want a green pudding!). Pretty straightforward – yet very nutritious, healthy and soo fruity and luscious!
Who is Tera Warner?
Tera from Montreal, (Canada) is behind the Raw Divas, a project focusing on getting started on raw foods, detox and cleansing. Her succeeding venture, Raw Mom, was formed supporting families to adopt healthier food habits and lifestyle changes.
Her biggest passion though is helping women get back into a positive dialogue with themselves and their bodies.
So in an effort to reach out and serve the community of women in whom she so greatly believes (and from whom she draws her inspiration and support)
