Why not treat yourself to some raw powdered cacao and whip up a delicious chocolate drink? How about a chocolate banana smoothie?
You can buy raw cacao products online. Most raw food shops carry chocolate bars, as well as raw cacao powder, nibs, whole beans and cacao butter. Raw cacao is full of magnesium and antioxidants, but beware it also stimulates your adrenals, so balance is the key.
Ingredients
2 bananas, in chunks (frozen is great)
1 cup water
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
2 pitted dates (or honey or agave syrup)
Optional: ¼ teaspoon vanilla (powder or extract)
Directions
1. Remove bananas from freezer and let thaw while you prepare the other ingredients.
2. Place bananas, dates and water in a blender and process until smooth.
3. Add cacao and vanilla, if using, and blend until creamy. Serve with gojiberries sprinkled on top!
